Late goals see Hoffenheim bring Leverkusen’s winning run to a brutal end
Hoffenheim beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the seventh round of the Bundesliga, with all three goals coming in the closing stages. Substitute Andrej Kramarić was involved in every goal, as Leverkusen suffered their first defeat in eight matches.

For a long time, there was little sign of what was to come in Sinsheim. The first half was short on chances and played in heavy rain, with Adam Hložek coming closest when his shot hit Mark Flekken’s post. The final minutes, however, belonged entirely to Hoffenheim.
In the 79th minute, VAR helped the hosts win a penalty for Edmond Tapsoba’s foul on Fisnik Asllani. Andrej Kramarić, on for around a quarter of an hour, converted coolly. Shortly before the end of normal time, the Croatian set up Alexander Prass for 2-0, but the goal sparked furious protests from Leverkusen coach Carles Martínez, as Max Moerstedt and Loïc Badé had clashed heads badly seconds earlier. Prass then took off his shirt in celebration and was sent off for a second yellow card. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Kramarić hit the crossbar and Moerstedt followed up to make it 3-0.
Hoffenheim have now won three in a row in all competitions, following a 3-0 win over Lyon in the Europa League, and sit 11th with 9 points. Leverkusen’s six-game winning streak came to an end, and they remain on 13 points.
