Levski sets aside a substantial sum for a striker transfer

Levski plans to invest at least €2 million in a new striker during the winter transfer window, as the club still lacks a recognized goalscorer despite an active summer on the transfer market. The management considers signing a finisher a priority task for the sporting and technical staff.

Levski's management plans to set aside at least €2 million to bring in a new striker, with signing a finisher to lead the line shaping up as the Blues' main objective for the winter transfer window.

Over the summer, the capital-city club invested nearly €4 million in four of its ten new signings, while the remaining players arrived either as free agents or on loan from various European clubs. However, none of the new players is a recognized center-forward.

According to sources close to the club, executive director Atanas Bostandzhiev had allocated a €5 million transfer budget, but it was not used in full, as the management did not find a suitable goalscorer worth investing more than a million euros in.

This situation is expected to be resolved in the winter, with signing a finisher emerging as a top priority for the sporting and technical leadership, including new Board of Directors member Edu Gaspar. Head coach Julio Velázquez currently has two center-forwards at his disposal: one is still recovering from injury and will need time to regain form, while the other has not fully won the trust of the coach, who prefers alternative options up front in decisive matches. The younger player in the squad also remains an option, although he is getting limited playing time for now.
